The ear wires are French style and made of surgical steel. These earrings are very comfortable and do not pull on your ears. The actual disc is 7/8" They look much better in real life!

This brooch was hand carved by James E. Boyle from photos of Merino rams. It is a a faboulous detailed pin you will treasure for years to come. Sheep ranching in Texas began when the first Spanish explorers and missionaries came to the region. It expanded during the eighteenth century with the continued establishment of mission ranches. It declined somewhat at the end of the century after authorities ordered the missions secularized, but in the mid-nineteenth century, after Anglo-Americans came to dominate the industry, it increased again.

This is a wonderful pin depicting a covered wagon or Conestoga wagon pulled by Oxen. The Conestoga wagon was a masterpiece of design. It's floor curved upward to prevent the contents from tipping and shifting. For protection against bad weather, stretched across the wagon was a tough canvas cover. These wagons were 16.5 feet in length and 4.5 feet in width. The frame and suspension were made of wood, while the wheels were clad with iron tyres for greater durability. While horses were also used oxen hold up better under heat and severe conditions. We reproduced this from an antique mold and it was hand cast in solid, jeweler's pewter. This pin is 2 inches wide! In the Nine-Banded Armadillo is the only species of armadillo found in Texas. It's armor consists of a large shield over the shoulders, a second large shield over the rump, and nine bands in the middle.
